CleanShot's polish. Shottr's speed. Plus the bits both of them are still missing, because I got tired of waiting and built them myself.
Area, window, fullscreen, timer, colour picker, plus scrolling capture that runs vertical and horizontal (theirs doesn't).
Drop several screenshots onto one canvas and mark them up together. Perfect for before-and-afters.
12 warm, hand-named backgrounds. Padding, shadow, rounded corners, a mac window frame. One-tap auto-balance.
13 tools: arrows, badges, spotlight, pixelate, magnifier. Plus OCR and smart redaction that auto-blurs cards, keys and tokens.
Webcam bubble, keystrokes and clicks, a real timeline, split and trim, plus voice-over. Export MP4, GIF or MOV.
Run your own scripts and webhooks after a capture. Push to ClickUp, Jira, YouTrack or S3, or let AI draft the task.
Pick a background, drag the padding & corners. This is the real thing.
The honest version. This is why I stopped paying for the others.
No subscription. One payment. Every future update included.
We're polishing the last corners. Leave your email and the download lands in your inbox the day it's ready. One email, no spam.
Lovely is in early access, so your feedback shapes it directly. Missing a feature, hit a rough edge? Tell me and I'll do my best to fix it, sometimes in the very next weekly build.

Completely. Every capture mode, the full editor, history and recording are free. The only catch is a small "made with Lovely" watermark and a few Pro extras like Beautify and scrolling capture.
No. Pro is a single $12 payment through Lemon Squeezy. Every future update is included, and the licence works on one Mac at a time (you can move it whenever).
I used both for years. Lovely keeps their best parts (Shottr's speed and scrolling capture, CleanShot's beautify polish) and adds the things I kept wishing for: horizontal scrolling, split-and-trim with voice-over, script tooling that automates what happens after a capture, and task integrations. One-time price, not a yearly one.

That's the whole reason this exists. Small releases land often, so send a request above and there's a good chance you'll see it soon.
